Claude models are not live on FreeModel yet, so Claude Code cannot be routed through FreeModel today. POST /v1/messages only serves Claude model IDs, and FreeModel does not translate Claude Messages requests to other models.
Claude Code talks to an LLM gateway through ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL and the Anthropic Messages protocol. When Claude models launch on FreeModel, they appear on the Claude model page and in GET /v1/models, and this setup will apply:
Use ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN, not ANTHROPIC_API_KEY, so Claude Code sends Authorization: Bearer <key>.
